早上，大學組的組長跟我提起他那「亞斯伯格癥」的兒子，在高中時期不被學校師長所接納，甚至認為學校所要教的是資優生，不是身心有障礙的孩子時，我心中有多氣憤，有多痛！還好，當時協會方面有人積極介入處理，才沒讓這個孩子沒有學校讀書。

在早期，AS的家長所走的路都相當的艱辛，尤其是在教育這個區塊受的挫折最多，教育體系及社會上普遍性對癥狀的不了解，造成很多的誤解，也讓家長不能諒解。我們AS的孩子如能了解其癥狀特征，事實上，他們是很好溝通，也能遵守規則的。因為他們的癥狀不明顯，不能了解或不認同他們時，這時容易產生各種誤解的情況，這一類的例子太多太多了。用我自己的說法是：我們并沒有找到打開門的那一把鑰匙。

AS的孩子通常在普通班就讀，不僅在智力上是極優的，而且有很多好的特質，但是，他們還是有他們不能的地方與困難存在。因此，身為家長的我們，是多么希望讓大家來認識這群純真善良的孩子，并且協助他們發展得更好，善用他們良好的一些特質。

總之，無論有多困難，AS的家長是永不放棄希望，持續努力的～～
