常見的對自閉癥的誤解和認識

　　對自閉癥的誤解：

　　自閉癥并不是缺乏溫暖的教養環境 (冰箱父母) 所造成的結果；

　　它不限于兒童，意思是自閉癥的征狀不會隨 年齡增長而消失；

　　自閉癥不一定同時擁有超凡能力，大概只有十分一的自閉癥人士有特別的專長，專長多見于歷法計算、數學、音樂、繪畫、記憶力；

　　自閉癥不是一個困著一個正常小孩的殼或罩，只要打破殼或罩，自閉癥小孩就可變回常人；

　　相對于上述，對自閉癥的正確理解應該如下：

　　它是生理方面的失調；

　　它是成長性的失調，隨著年齡、智力、能力、性格顯示不同的行為，有些障礙并不是明顯可見的；

　　自閉癥人士的智力或能力表現是不平均的，能力較高的范圍包括硬記的記憶力、砌拼圖、朗讀文字、英文串字，能力最差的是在回答普通常識問題、或杜撰圖畫故事方面；

　　自閉癥見于所有不同的智商水平，但很多伴有智障問題，約四分三的智商是70以下；
