如何找出孩子如廁問題的關鍵

    如果遇到一個在如廁方面有困擾的孤獨癥兒童，首先應該對照以上階段的各環節，找出孩子是在哪個環節出現了問題。在找出問題的同時，也就找到了訓練的著手點。
    (1)感知及傳達階段：便前沒有感覺，已經排泄出來了也沒有任何特別表現；有便感但表現的動作不明顯，或表現的動作過分異常而不使人聯想到他是要排泄。沒有將便感傳達給他人的意識或能力，如不會說“尿尿”。
    (2)選擇場所階段：即使是在熟悉的環境里也沒有“上廁所去大小便”的意識；在不熟悉的環境里隨地排泄；知道應在廁所里大小便，但有意不去，或在著急的情況下“便不擇地”；有偏執行為，如只在某個固定的地方(不是廁所)大小便，在廁所卻不上便池，或在廁所以外的任何場所排泄。
    (3)便前及便后處理階段：不知道或不能夠脫下褲子(包括解開褲扣)；不知道或不能夠使用手紙，使用手紙也不能夠擦干凈；沒有提起褲子就走出廁所；沒有沖刷廁所的意識或不會沖刷廁所。
