聯合國紀念首個“世界自閉癥日”潘基文致詞

　　4月2日是第一個“世界自閉癥日”。聯合國秘書長潘基文當天發表致詞，呼吁世界各國關注自閉癥患者以及所有殘障人士的權利和福祉。

　　潘基文在致詞中表示，2008年是《聯合國人權宣言》頒布60周年的一年，《殘疾人權利公約》也有望于2008年生效，在這一年紀念第一個“世界自閉癥日”更具意義。他還呼吁國際社會為殘疾兒童建立有利的環境，讓他們作為完全自力的社會成員順利發展。

　　聯大去年12月通過決議，從2008年起，將每年的4月2日定為“世界自閉癥日”，以提高人們對于自閉癥及相關研究、診斷和護理工作的關注和支持。

　　自閉癥是以嚴重孤獨、缺乏情感反應、語言發育障礙、刻板重復動作和對環境奇特的反應為特征的精神疾病，一般在三歲以前就會表現出來，并會對患者造成終生影響。早期診斷和治療對于患自閉癥的兒童來說至關重要。（伊懷杰）
