　　六歲的凱爾患有自閉癥。無論是在家里,還是跟媽媽一塊外出,凱爾從來不跟媽媽說話,也不讓媽媽抱、不讓媽媽吻、不讓媽媽撫摸。為照顧凱爾,媽媽妮克拉只有放棄工作,只有在一周里上兩次夜班。凱爾的爸爸羅布是一名公司職員。凱爾的自閉癥不僅給羅布帶來巨大的工作壓力,還直接影響到羅布和妮克拉的夫妻感情?！P爾的自閉癥是兩年前在妮克拉的認定下,找知名心理醫生約翰?哈福斯診斷的。兩年來,妮克拉將自己所有的時間幾乎都交給兒子凱爾,在凱爾煩躁、哭鬧的時候,妮克拉會以為兒子之所以會這樣,完全是她這個當媽媽的造成的；而羅布忙于工作,妮克拉將此看作是羅布作為父親的一種逃脫……
