孤獨癥醫藥療法

（Physical Approaches to Treatment）
由于受到主張自閉癥和精神分裂癥有關學說之影響，使得曾有一段時間，治療精神分裂癥之療法也常被應用在自閉癥患者的治療上，因此一些治療精神分裂之藥物，也被用在自閉癥之治療。但是由于自閉癥與精神分裂癥有很大的差異，加上難有一種藥物能有效的對自閉癥患者所有的癥狀有相當的療效，因此在醫藥療法上主要是處理自閉癥患者的一些生理問題（如癲癇）、行為問題（如過動）之控制，或經由遺傳諮商防范自閉癥之發生等方面。此外，也有研究指出，藥物的治療可以視為自閉癥整體療育的一環，經由評估、用藥分析、診斷及多元之效果評量，對某些自閉癥患者而言，藥物療法也可算是安全的療法之一。
