遲鈍是自閉癥的征兆之一

　　羅伯特博士運用了一種名為腦磁圖(MEG)的技術，該技術能像腦電圖(EEG)測定電場那樣檢測大腦的磁場。識別并分類這些大腦反應模式可以使研究人員能更加精確地為患有孤獨癥的兒童進行診斷治療，也可以使他們研究出更多治愈孤獨癥的方法。

　　在播放聲音時，腦磁圖儀器的記錄顯示，與正常兒童相比，患有自閉癥的兒童的大腦響應時間要慢20毫秒。兒童醫院兒童放射學的羅伯特博士，在芝加哥召開的北美放射學會的年會上公布了他的這一發現。
