游泳能促進嬰兒發育

對比觀察結果表明，游泳時，水的導熱性比空氣大，在水中運動消耗能量多，腸蠕動加強，嬰兒飲奶量明顯增加，胎便轉黃時間比不游泳者平均早6個多小時，降低了新生兒黃疸的發生。在水中做關節操的同時，肌肉、四肢、關節、脊柱運動不會受到來自地面反作用力的直接沖擊，非但不易受傷，而且有利于促進肌肉和骨骼系統的靈活性、柔韌性。

　　皮膚是人體最大的感受器，水對嬰幼兒皮膚的沖擊和壓力，形成了一定特定條件下的皮膚按摩和撫觸作用。這種全身性運動明顯提高了游泳組嬰兒適應外界環境的反應能力、應激能力和智力發育。該院護理師觀察到，游泳嬰兒的俯臥抬頭時間、俯臥雙肘支持時間比未游泳的嬰兒持續時間要長，頭和眼的協調也更好。而且游泳組嬰兒對話反應早，對周圍顏色反應靈敏，寶寶顯得更聰明、更健康。
