自閉癥的特征

從自閉癥相關的研究, 文獻探討和臨床分類等各方面綜合的觀點看, 自閉癥相關障礙間和同一障礙間雖然有類似的問題存在, 但在類別和程度上也有差別. 下面所提出的自閉癥的特征是包含自閉癥系列障礙的特征. 因此, 自閉癥患者在各種能力, 特征方面可能有很大的差異, 如下表(Indiana Resource Center for Autism, 1997):
