對自閉癥兒童的處理技巧

專注力差　　　　　　　　
· 盡量將工作分為小部份，令自閉癥患者在開始不專注前完成工作
· 如發覺患者開始不專注，可嘗試在他面前輕力拍手或輕力拍桌，以幫助他重新集中
不能集中精神　　　　　　　　
· 由於自閉癥患者容易受周圍環境影響，以致不能集中精神，故要盡量安置他在一寧靜房間內學習
· 避免坐近窗口位
溝通　　　　　　　　
· 說話方面，語氣堅定，慢而清楚，內容不宜抽象或要作推論
· 指示要清楚，簡單，要求患者完成的任務最好不要同時超過兩個指令
· 可有身體語言，以示親切，例如拉手或摸頭
· 要求患者注目回應
· 獎罰要分明，患者能完成任務或做了些應該獎勵的行為，一定要獎勵，以增加他們的自信及成功感；但如做了不正確行為，要罰，最好是即時獎罰及讓他們自己說出獎罰的原因
